Dear all,

2022 is upon us, and I would like to extend my greetings to all our customers, suppliers, colleagues, and friends, and wish you and your family a very happy new year!

There is a famous poem in China, “年年岁岁花相似，岁岁年年人不同”, which is translated as "Flowers are similar every year, but people are different every year". While our Advanced Packaging business unit is experiencing growth in the Asia Pacific region, we continue to face different challenges every year, especially in 2021.

Since the beginning of 2021, apart from the continuous fight against the pandemic worldwide, the industry has experienced the impact of a series of superimposed unfavourable factors such as hikes in raw material prices, logistics delays, energy crisis, and more. But as a tight-knit team with customers at the heart of everything we do, we at Bostik have prevailed against the odds. Our results include the continuous savings in raw materials and hitting our annual sales targets, again demonstrating our team's tenacity and the strong resilience of the industry in the face of adversity. All achievements were possible, thanks to you!

“Adversity makes one stronger; just as polishing makes jade finer”. After a year of hardship, we can understand now more than ever that the crisis is not entirely a bad thing. It spurred growth and evolution through the continuous pursuit of innovation and developments. In 2021, we acquired high-performance adhesives business Ashland to further expand our product portfolio in the pressure-sensitive adhesive field, purchased industrial coating machine from Nordmeccanica to consolidate our flexible packaging business in the region, and obtained the global patent to vertify our innovative spirit.

Looking ahead to 2022, the road is long, and we must continue to do our best. We shall overcome all the challenges that may occur in the new year, unite as an industry, and strive to accomplish our goals for the year and beyond!
